While a number of the new health care reform law's provisions will take effect in less than six weeks,
several polls in recent weeks make it clear that many Americans remain confused about just what the complex law will and will not do. Some Americans continue to erroneously believe the law will create death panels making end-of-life decisions. Others are unaware that September 23 will bring new benefits under the law, such as dependent coverage to age 26, tax credits for small businesses, broad preventive service coverage and high-risk coverage. As a result, a number of organizations are ramping up efforts to educate consumers about the impact of the law.
